Steamy Hundos

Post by Phrawger »

A Steamy Hundo is cheeved by collecting one hundred percent of the cheevos that are available for a video game on Steam. This is a thread to celebrate the Steamy Hundos you have cheeved.

At time of posting, these are the Steamy Hundos I have cheeved:
Image

Elden Ring: honestly pretty easy once you get going. Souls games are tough but fair in most things and this extends to their cheevos.

Hades: I like when cheevos go wide instead of deep. This game has a good balance where you do have to use all the tools at your disposal but not on the hardest difficulty the game provides.

LEGO DC Super Villains: some day I'm going to replay LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga in a way that tracks my progress externally. In the meantime, I did this.

nodebuster: the most cheeved hundo on my list I think, with the least common cheevo being cheeved by 75% of players.

One Piece Pirate Warriors 4: I'm a sucker for games that let me play as a ton of characters from a thing I like, and I blitzed through One Piece this year. You do the math.

SNKRX: no wait listen to me it's roguelike snake bullet hell. This game whips ass and that's why I played All Of It.

Nice! I've apparently got 7, but a few of them are gimmes for sure: Void Stranger, Realm Grinder (an incremental game), and The Future You've Been Dreaming Of (an ecchi game I hardly remember).

Spelunky, Ittle Dew 2, Fez, and Patrick's Parabox, on the other hand, required a bit of effort. It's wild to think that my Spelunky HD era was over a decade ago. Somehow I only put 400 hours into that game.

EDIT: Oh, I meant to add that both SNKRX and Nodebuster look interesting. I'll have to check them out!

Currently, the only Steamy Hundo I have is in Hexologic, a fun little number puzzle game similar in vibe to Sudoku. I'm missing exactly one cheevo in Hades. No, I don't think I'll finish that.

I once had a Steamy Hundo in Heat Signature, but then a title update added a bunch of new cheevos that are quite difficult. I'm unlikely to clean that up, either, but the Stundo was fun while it lasted. Heat Signature is a top-down spaceship heist game, and the second game of The Defenestration Trilogy. It gets the least love, except from me.

Pizza Tower was a steamy hundo except they had an update that added some cheevos and they are hidden too so I don't even get to know the special secrets they added.

I just really like these games. They hooked me enough that I played them until I had everything.

my steamies are mostly pretty cheap - 4 of these are pure narrative games, 5 only have one cheevo (some overlap between those two categories) and 1 is a demo...

I remember Gunpoint being a delight way back when I did it, and Plants vs Zombies is somehow the one I'm proudest of?? I feel like the cheevo bar for a lot of my favourite games is set a little high... sorry Terry I'm never getting a no-death clear of VVVVVV

Yay, a place to brag about achievements!

The Trails in the Sky games are tricky to 100% -- there are so many missable items and sidequests, and every treasure chest needs to be examined twice for it to count. Guess who forgot to double check one random chest in the middle of nowhere?

The Final Fantasy I and II Pixel Remasters were much, MUCH easier to 100%. I think my combined playtime of FF1 and FF2 is only half of a single Trails in the Sky game.

I've now got all achievements for Nodebuster, too. Fun little game -- great vibes. Very pleasant, and it's nice seeing devs figure out how to make an incremental auto-shooter game have distinct gameplay "arcs" within it. Not that others don't, just that they occasionally end up very repetitive. This kept it pretty short and sweet.

Nice! Yeah I agree on all counts, it caught my eye for being an autoshooter with a distinctive vibe to its levels and then got me to 100% it by having just enough game to be worth it.
